제목 Efficient Process for production of Dimethy Ether from Methanol over Water-tolerant K-modified ZSM-5 catalyst
초록 Here, we report an efficient process for production of dimethylether (DME) from water containing methanol using K-modified ZSM-5 catalyst. K-ZSM-5 catalyst exhibited the best performance owing to high DME yield over board reaction temperature range and less coke formation. An effect of reaction parameters on activity and stability of the K-ZSM-5 catalyst was investigated. When the water content in the feed stream increased, a wilder operative temperature range achieved despite a drop in the methanol conversion at a low temperature range. Furthermore, it was found that low water content in the feed stream and LHSV were more likely associated with coke formation and dealumination, respectively. Hence, the DME production process allowed recycling of the water containing methanol as a feed stream, and consequently a process simulation by using Aspen Plus software indicated potential to achieve energy saving up to 16% or more in comparison to a conventional MTD process.
