제목 Sulfonic Acid Functionalized Fibrous Nano-Silica (KCC-1) Catalysts for the Condensation of Furanic Platform Molecules to Diesel Precursors
초록 The synthesis of transport fuels from lignocellulosic biomass encompasses the utilization and upgrading of intermediate chemical platforms to higher carbon precursors. In this work, the cross-condensation of 2-methylfuran with furfural, and self-condensation of 2-methylfuran to produce C15 ketones were investigated. Different types of sulfonic acid catalysts supported on nanofibrous silica (KCC-1) were synthesized. The catalysts were characterized by SEM, TEM, BET, XRD, TGA, FT-IR and EDX. 56% conversion of 2-MF and 100% selectivity to C15 were obtained in the self-condensation reaction. In the cross-condensation, it was possible to attain 93.7% and 100% conversion of 2-methylfuran and furfural with 100% selectivity to C15.
