Recently, several researchers have studied direct methanol fuel cell(DMFC) because it can support power to mobile phone, desktop, and portable devices. In this study, sulfonated poly ether ether ketone (SPEEK) was synthesized successfully by sulfonation of commercial PEEK. The SPEEK membrane was prepared by casting by soaking the SPEEK membrane in distilled water and sulfuric acid solution. The proton conductivity and methanol permeability properties of SPEEK membrane were measured up to 4×10-2 S/㎝ and also cell performance was total successfully with showing lowest methanol permeability than that electrochemical performance of Nafion. |
