The effect of the ultrasound in copper recovery process using electrochemistry method |

The Eectrochemical process is in general use in the recovery of the metallic ion. The electrochemical process on ultrasound gets a high efficiency of experiment because of decrease in diffusion layer thickness and surface cleaning effect by cavitation. This study is to investgate the significant effect of ultrasound upon the electrochemical recovery of copper from CuSO4·5H2O/0.1N HNO3 electrolyte. The experimental parameters are potential, concentration, time and temperature on recovery efficiency. The results show that an ultrasonic field is higher than a non-ultrasonic for the removal of copper ion in electrolyte solution. The cathode efficiency is also enhanced under ultrasound.
