Donor–acceptor conjugated copolymers based on benzo[1,2,5]thiadiazole(BTD) and 10-(2-ethylhexyl)-10H-phenothiazine(EHPZ) unit were designed and synthesized for high-performance low bandgap polymer solar cells. A newly synthesized monomer, 3,3'-(2,5-bis((E)-2-(5-bromothiophen-2-yl)vinyl)thiophene-3,4-diyl)bis(9-ethyl-9H-carbazole)(BTTEC), was respectly polymerized with BTD and EHPZ unit by Suzuki-coupling polycondensation reactions. BTD and EHPZ as electron-withdrawing unit and BTTEC as electron-donating unit were incorporated into the copolymer chain to tune the bandgap of donor. The chemical structure was performed by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and Gel permeation chromatography (GPC). Also, the electrochemical properties were estimated from UV-vis spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry(CV). The polymer solar cell devices were fabricated by solution processing and their photovoltaic properties were investigated by IPCE and PCE. |
