Recently, enzyme-triggered injectable hydrogel system has been studied. Enzymatic cross-linking systems have some advantages, such as biocompatible and fast reaction in mild condition. In this study, injectable hydrogels composed of Tetronic-tyramine (Tetronic-TA) and hyaluronic acid-tyramine (HA-TA) conjugates were developed. Tetronic-TA and HA-TA conjugates were synthesized by coupling the polymers with tyramine using DCC/NHS and EDC/NHS respectively. The Tetronic/HA hybrid hydrogels were rapidly formed under physiological condition in presence of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Their physico-chemical properties such as swelling ratio, degradation rate, and gelation time were characterized by the difference in the weight ratio of Tetronic-TA to HA-TA. The obtained results demonstrated that the synthetic/natural hybrid hydrogel via enzymatic reaction is a promising injectable material for tissue engineering and drug delivery. |
