The Purpose of this study was photo-immobilization of BMP-2 using prepared azido-carrageenan derivative (Az-Carr) on collagen sheets and confirmed the effect of bone regeneration by release of the protein. Carrageenan as natural polymer had properties that it was biocompatible, low toxic, anti-viral activity and anti-coagulant for application to medical field. And, carrageenan was used in food and pharmaceutical applications for its gelling and thickening. Prepared Az-Carr identified by 1H-NMR and uv/vis spectrophotometer. Az-Carr was evaluated drug immobilization and releasing control with BSA protein using protein releasing test. To confirm enhanced bone regeneration, Ca 2+, ALP assay and Alizarin Red S staining were performed. |
