Enviromentally responsive polymeric microparticles have attracted great attentions in recent years for their practical and potential applications in drug controlled release. Thermoresponsive PLGA microparticle using PNIPAM-modified Pluronic surfactant was prepared by shirasu porous glass (SPG) membrane emulsification. PNIPAM-modified Pluronic surfactant synthesized by utilizing a redox initiation system. The particle size of PLGA microparticle increased as the chain length of PNIPAM, which was grafted to the surfactant backbone, became longer. It was confirmed that Pluronic F68 was modified by thermoresponsive PNIPAM and size of microparticle was changed as GPC, FT-IR, TEM , NMR, DLS and SEM. Thermosensitive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)(PNIPAM) microparticle exhibit a unique phase change at its lower critical solution temperature(LCST). The properties of PNIPAM composites make it a good candidate material for many application. |
