Gastrointestinal (GI) cancer patients take up many parts of cancer related death all over the world. However, the early stage of GI cancer is relatively easy to diagnose and cure with the advantage of accessibility. With the advances of medical devices and technologies, GI cancer can be easily diagnosed with endoscopy or laparoscopy. But conventional endo/laparoscopic reagents have clinical limitation because of low lesion selectivity. To overcome this limitation, smart photodynamic agent composed of cancer targetable aptamer and hydrophilic photosensitizer was fabricated in this study.
