제목 Cofactor Engineering for the Production of Polyketides in Streptomyces
초록 Metabolic engineering has been successfully applied to enhance the production of bioactive compounds in many microbial systems. In many cases, since cofactors were limiting factors for the overproduction of target compounds, the overall efficiency was hampered. Cofactor is the compound playing many important roles in the cellular metabolism including lipid production, especially polyketides biosynthesis. CoA compounds including acetyl-CoA, propionyl-CoA, malonyl-CoA, and methylmalonyl-CoA are essential as starting units for the biosynthesis of polyketides. By using upstream gene in the cofactor production to promote the biosynthesis of CoA in polyketides producing cells, the levels of polyketides production are increased.
