Heat treatment effects on the electrical properties of Y-junction single-walled carbon nanotubes |

We have investigated the effects of heat treatment on the electrical properties of Y-junction single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) which are synthesized by thermal chemical vapor deposition. Mo doped Fe nanoparticles supported by aluminum oxide are used as a catalyst to grow the Y-junction SWCNTs. Y-junction SWCNTs are characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Raman spectroscopy. Annealing conditions are systematically varied from room temperature to 1100℃ in N2 atmosphere to improve the properties of Y-junction SWCNTs. The annealed Y-junction SWCNTs are dispersed in ethanol solution and dripped on patterned device with electrode. The Y-junction SWCNTs with metal electrodes are fabricated using electron beam lithography with PMMA resist and lift off technique. It is found out that the properly annealed Y-junction SWCNTs shows the improved electrical properties compared with those of as-grown samples. |
