Effect of strontium ions on K2O-TiO2-SiO2 glass soaked in molten Sr(NO3)2 |

Fresnoite glass-ceramics has been attracting considerable attention because of the second order nonlinearity as well as its permanent optical nonlinearity.However, the more detailed study on the chemical compositions of transparent glass-ceramics and the glass preparation having the composition close to fresnoite glass-ceramics stoichiometry are required.In this study, K2O-TiO2-SiO2 (KTS) glass was prepared and soaked in molten Sr(NO3)2 to make transparent glass-ceramics on the surface of which crystallines were formed. The effect of strontium ion was observed. The crystalline phase of the soaked glasses was examined by means of XRD under the various conditions of soaking time and heat treatments. The shape and composition of the strontium ions exchanged crystalline was analyzed by SEM-EDS. |
