The combination of biopolymers and bioceramics is recognized as a useful approach for high-performance bone regeneration. Herein, we describe an unprecedented synthetic approach to porous Poly(L-lactide) (PLA) scaffolds with immobilized nano-hydroxyapatite (N-HAp) on the pore surface. The immobilization of N-HAp on the PLA pore surface was performed by the reaction of surface-treated N-HAp with the primary amines of surface-functionalized PLA. This rational surface engineering may provide the novel scaffold featuring excellent bone tissue-regenerative properties. Acknowledgement.
