제목 | Detection of lead(II) ion by using DNA quaruplex as molecular scaffold and thioflavin-T |
초록 | Since the industrial revolution, heavy metals have been widely used as important substances for various industries. However, despite of their utility, many studies demonstrated that the heavy metal ions have been proven to be harmful and fatal for human healthy via directly or indirectly absorption into the human body. In particular, lead(II), which is one of the most toxic heavy metal ion, has been demonstrated for its effect on humans to cause cancer due to inhibition of certain enzymes, the fidelity of DNA synthesis, mutations, and chromosome aberrations. However, despite of many studies, the molecular mechanism of cancer caused by lead(II) has not been proven yet. Furthermore, it has been no previous method in order to detect the location that lead(II) binds to nucleic acid in biological conditions. Herein,we introduce not only the molecular mechanism of DNA damaged by lead(II) but also the detecting method of lead(II) in biological conditions. |
