Diketopyrrolopyrrole-based Copolymers Containing Pyrene Moiety and their Semiconducting Properties |

In the study, we designed and synthesized two new low bandgap alternating copolymers containing diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) and pyrene-based monomers. Pyrene is a flat aromatic molecule with four fused phenyl ring. The pyrene moiety has a strong propensity for π- π stacking in a molecular level and well-defined π-stacked molecular arrangement of the moiety can facilitate the charge transport. The main difference between the two polymers is the reactive positions in a pyrene ring (e.g. 2,7- and 1,6- positions). Thermal analysis, cyclic voltammetry and absorption spectroscopy were employed to compare their intrinsic properties. Eventually, we fabricated thin film transistors to study their p-type semiconducting properties. |
