제목 Alginate–Sericite immobilised hybrid gel beads: An efficient adsorbent material for methylene blue adsorption
초록 Here we report on the adsorption performance of calcium Alginate–Sericite immobilised hybrid gel beads adsorbents for the successful removal of for methylene blue (MB) from aqueous solution. Different pH 3–12, different adsorbent doses, methylene blue (MB) concentrations and contact times were investigated using equilibrium and kinetic studies. The adsorbents were characterized using XRD, FT-IR, analyses. Morphological structure of the adsorbent were determined by scanning electron spectroscopy. Batch adsorption studies revealed that MB adsorption on Alginate–Sericite hybrid gel beads increased with increase in initial concentration and solution pH 3–12. Langmuir, Freundlich adsorption isotherms were tested for the adsorption process. The results of this study revealed that Alginate–Sericite hybrid gel beads are promising adsorbent for treatment of MB dyes in effluent wastewaters.
