제목 | The Study on the Compatibility and Properties of PMMA/ SAN/ Clay Nanocomposite Prepared by Twin Screw Extruder |
초록 | PMMA (polymethylmethacrylate) and SAN (polystyrene-co-acrylonitrile) have been frequently used as optical and coating materials. It has been known that PMMA and SAN form a miscible blend when the acrylonitrile (AN) content in SAN is between about 9 and 33% by weight. The compatibility of the PMMA/ SAN blends was determined to establish the phase diagrams by various methods such as cloud point measurement. In this study, PMMA/ SAN/ clay nanocomposites were prepared by twin screw extruder and the effect of clay was examined on the compatibility in PMMA/ SAN. Clays used in this study were pristine montmorillonite (PM) and organoclay modified with a quaternary ammonium salt. Morphology and thermal properties were examined using TEM, XRD and DSC. |
