Novel ‘Click’ Hydrogel from Polyaspartamide Derivatives for Biomedical Applications |

Copper-assisted azide alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) became lately a very interesting tool for synthesizing biocompatible polymer-based materials such as hydrogels and biocongugates. The alkyne group-modified polyaspartamide could be obtained by successful aminolysis reaction of polysuccinimide, anhydro polyaspartic acid, using propargyl amine. Tri-arm azido glycerol hydroxylates with pH-sensitive piperazine moiety were used as the crosslinker to prepare click gels. The obtained hydrogels will have the different behaviors in terms of swelling degrees, mechanical properties, and gel morphology. These novel hydrogels have potential for biomedical applications including controlled drug delivery and tissue engineering. |
