In 21 century, carbonaceous materials are focused as one of promising materials for hydrogen storage media. The surfaces of carbons have high energy density, so it is easy to introduce some hydrogen-friendly functional groups on their surfaces. And the porous structures of carbons also can be advantageous in hydrogen storage. In this work, we used various surface treatment techniques on several porous carbon materials. Nano size metal particles, such as Ni, Cu, Pd, Ag, and Pt, were introduced on carbon surfaces in order to gain optimal hydrogen storage capacity. |
