제목 Cationic Latax Particles: Synthesis and Applications for Hollow Structures
초록 In this presentation, we will present the synthesis of polymeric latex particles with cationic surface charges by soapless emulsion polymerization of styrene as monomer. AIBA was chosen as initiator to obtain the amidine-functionalized cationic polystyrene particles using batch-type emulsion polymerization reactor. Factors affecting the particle size of spherical latex particles were studied by changing the rotation speed of stirrer, the concentration of initiator and monomer during the emulsion polymerization step. For cross-linked particles, divinylbenzene was used as comonomer to prevent the latex particles from being dissolved in organic solvent such as toluene. From the amidine particles as templates, some hollow structures of inorganic particles were produced for potential application of drug carriers, catalytic supports, and etc.
