Aptamers were oligonucleotides which can bind to various target molecules such as proteins, peptides, and cells with a high specificity and selectivity. In this work, aptamer-functionalized silicone-nanowire (Si-NW) field-effect transistor (FET) was successfully fabricated for biosensor applications. Aptamers were immobilized on the Si-NW after surface modification with 3-aminopropyl diethoxysilane and succinic anhydride to introduce amine and carboxyl groups on the Si-NW. Atomic force microscopic analysis confirmed the immobilization of aptamers on the Si-NW. The Si-NW FET aptasensor was successfully applied for the real-time electrical detection during and after binding with target molecules. The novel aptasensor will be investigated further for clinical applications. |
