제목 Insight into stability of  electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction
초록 Electrochemical CO2 conversion can be integrated with renewable energies such as solar photovoltaic cell. Then, it can utilize the sunlight to synthesize chemicals, and this technique has been suggested as artificial photosynthesis. To improve the solar to chemical conversion efficiency, developing not only the photovoltaic cell, but also the efficient electrocatalysts are crucial. Here, we will talk our works to develop oxide-derived metal based electrocatalysts for selective production of target chemicals such as CO, formate, and ethylene. Especially, our previous studies gave us an insight how to suppress the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) is crucial to achieve efficient CO2 reduction catalysts. From the morphology and chemical state analysis, the initial states of the metal catalysts were found to be crucial to determine product selectivity-stability.
