The use of graphene in graphene/polymer nanocomposites has attracted wide attention due to the particular mechanical and electrical properties. However, the chemically inert nature of graphene led to poor dispersion and weak interfacial interactions with the many organic polymer matrices. We employed the oxyfluorination method for the surface modification of graphene in order to improve the dispersion in the hydrophilic polymer matrices. The characterization of nanocomposites was carried out by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscopy. The electrical property was measured by four probe method. The mechanical and electrical properties of graphene/poly(vinyl alcohol) nanocomposite were improved by surface modification with oxyfluorination. |
