Acetohydroxamic acid has been studied by absorbance spectroscopy as a complex forming reagent for the trivalent lanthanides(Ce(III) and Nd(III)) in aqueous solution at 1.0 M (NaClO4) ionic strength. Computation relating to the determination of stability constants was performed by regression analysis of UV/VIS spectra using SQUAD program. The stability constants for acetohydroxamic acid with Ce(III) and Nd(III) were obtained with the aid of program SQUAD. The stability constants of Ce(III) and Nd(III) complexes by SQUAD were logβ1=5.05, logβ2=10.60 and logβ3=16.23 for Ce(III), and logβ1=5.90, logβ2=12.22, and logβ3=18.58 for Nd(III). |
