제목 | Bile duct cancer treatment using drug-encapsulated liposomes enabling photodynamic therapy and immunotherapy |
초록 | Due to spreading morphology of bile duct cancer, exact prognosis is difficult. Since late diagnosis of bile duct cancer leads to poor response to anticancer agent, survival rate is too low. To overcome these limitations of monotherapy, various trials have been studied to enhance therapeutic effects. In this study, to achieve synergistic antitumoral effect, combinatory photodynamic therapy (PDT) and chemotherapy is used. PDT is widely used for cancer treatment by damaging cancer cells with reactive oxygen species produced from photosensitizer (PS) under laser irradiation. In addition, PDT-induced cell damage could elicit acute immunostimulatory factor by rapid and strong tumor destruction. So, we have developed chemo-drug incorporated and PS conjugated liposomes as an immune modulator to elicit antitumoral immunity at localized tumor site. Our nano-platform has an important role to treat cancer as a single system. |
