As life-threatening bacterial infection by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) has emerged for human being, the demand about the new antibacterial agents also increases. Many researchers have been developed new antibiotics such as silver ion, silver nanoparticle, polymer, peptide, and so on. However, the cytotoxicity and limited application of antibiotics was remained as unsolved problem. Recently, nitric oxide (NO), which is a radical gas, has been highlighted for its antibacterial activity via the reactants formed by the reaction between NO and superoxide. However, the cytotoxicity and uncontrolled NO release was obstacles to solve as antibacterial agents. Herein, we developed biocompatible F68-BPEI1800-NONOates vesicle to delivery NO. We synthesized and characterized the material, then analyzed NO release profile and verified antibacterial activity through colony forming unit (CFU) counting, Live Dead assay and TEM. |
