제목 Anti-Biofouling Performance of Low-Density Polyethylene Films by Photografting Modification with a Fluoromonomer
초록 Due to inadequate hygiene in the food processing, the development of materials that prevent the formation of biofilms on the surfaces of substances in contact with food is highly demanded. Therefore, bacteria-repellent superhydrophobic surfaces was fabricated through a simple process using UV-grafting method. 1H,1H,2H-perfluoro-1-decene (HDFD) was placed between two low-density polyethylene (LDPE) films and irradiated with UV. As a result, contact angles of two grafted surfaces have a higher angle than the normal LDPE films. When nanorough PE surface was used, it showed superhydrophobic properties after an irradiation time of 40 minutes. When bacteria were inoculated on our superhydrophobically-modified PE surfaces, the number of bacterial populations significantly decreased compared to that of a general food packaging film surfaces.
