MOF-808 derived Pt/C catalyst with durable ORR performance in PEMFC |

The oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) at the cathode of the PEMFC is a rate-determining step. Although recent advances in Pt-based catalyst have been achieved using various material designs such as alloys, core@shell structures, and shape control, many issues remain to be resolved. Especially with high loading, it isn't easy to improve the catalytic durability while maintaining the particle size between 2 and 5 nm to ensure the initial catalytic activity. Thus, it is of great significance to prepare high-loading Pt/C catalysts with enhanced activity and durability. In this study, we present a synthesis of highly durable and active MOF-808-derived Pt/C. Zr-MOF -808, a sub-material of Metal-Organic Frameworks with zirconium, is a substance formed by combining zirconium nodes and H3BTC organic ligand. Prepared high loading Pt/C show excellent ORR activity and durability compared to commercial Pt/C catalyst. |
