Polypropylene has weak melt strength, and this behavior is serious drawback for processes like therforming, blow molding and foaming. For this reason, there have been some attempts to increase melt strength of polypropylene, and it is one of the possible routes to introduce branching onto polypropylene to make reaction between randomly fuctionalized polypropylene with polyfunctional monomer. In this study, reactive melt processing of maleated polypropylene (PP-g-MA) with diamine was carried out. Polybonds with different MA contents were reacted with hexamethylene diamine (HMDA), and poly(propylene glycol)-bis-(2-propylamine) (Jeffamine D-400). The reacted polymers were characterized by FTIR analysis, titration and GPC measurement. And their thermal and rheological properties were measured.
