The proton transport properties are strongly affected by the morphological changes in microstructures of membranes. Our group have, in this sense, widely investigated the potential of partially sulfonated hydrophilic-hydrophobic block copolymers for an application on fuel cells, and newly synthesized fluorene-containing multi-block copolymers. F-ended hydrophobic oligomers were first prepared, and the multi-block copolymers were synthesized by adding these oligomers into the reaction solution which hydrophilic oligomers were dispersed in. Finally, the properties of resulting copolymers were examined thoroughly for fuel cell applications. |
