Fabrication and characterize of polymer/silica splitters |

Fluorinated polymer materials have good thermal and chemical stability, and it has a low propagation loss within the transmisson window in optical communications systems. In this study, we polymerized fluorinated copolymer of TFSGE(Tetrafluorostyrene Glycidyl Ether) and TFEMA(Trifluoro Ethyl Methacrylate) which are synthesized by ourself. The polymer/silica hybrid splitter is fabricated using spin coating, photolithographic patterning, and reactive ion etching(RIE). MW and thermal properties of polymer was characterized by GPC and thermal gravimetric analysis(TGA). The thermo-optical coefficient was measured self made machine and thickness and refractive index was measured prism coupler and ellipsometer. |
