제목 Surface hydration of fibrous filters by using MOF-303 for efficient ultrafine particulate matter removal
초록 Particulate matter which can cause a serious health problem such as lungcancer by inhalation due to the small size. Here, we have first demonstratedthat surface hydration of electrospun fiber-based filters significantly improvesultrafine PM0.3 (PMs having a diameter of ~0.3µm) capturing ability. Aluminum-basedMOF–303 provides sufficient surface hydration with PI NFs due to its high-wateruptake capability, resulting in favorable trapping sites for polar molecules orparticles in the air. Furthermore, the PI@MOF–303 filters showed relativelylow pressure drops, which can be attributed to increasing fiber diameters afterMOF–303 coating, resulting from enlarged spaces between fibers.Consequently, the PI@MOF–303filters afford highly efficient PM0.3 removal properties (95.701%) and low pressuredrop (ΔP = 36.731 Pa). Our strategy offers new insights intothe fabrication of high performance electrospun fiber-based filters withdesirable properties for filtering PMs.
