Zinc sulfide (ZnS) phosphors are used as emitting material for thin-film powder EL sheets. To protect ZnS phosphor against humidity and oxygen and to enhance life-time, phosphor surface must be coated. many studies were coated inorganic materials, SiO2 and TiO2, using sol-gel method rather than CVD method. PFAS (perfluoroalkylsilane) has a hydrophobic perfluoroalkyl groups, which has more hydrophobic than alkyl groups, with water-repellent property and ethoxy silane to enable condensation reactions on phosphor surfaces. We coated ZnS phosphor using PFAS and compared with the phosphor coated by OTES (n-octyl triethoxy silane). the coated phosphors were evaluated by FT-IR, SEM, EDX, TEM and it's emission property. |
