제목 Large scale alignment of metallic nanowires by bar coating assembly for high performance transparent electrode
초록 1D metallic nanowires (NWs) have been widely studied as next generation conductive nano-materials to exploit opto-electronic devices and sensors, due to its superior electrical conductivity and optical properties. In particular, these metallic NWs with good flexibility is quite suitable for the production of a wide range of flexible electronic devices. However, it is very difficult to assemble 1D nanowires with high aspect ratio onto desired substrates. Several approaches for assembly of 1D nanostructure have been widely exploited such as Langmuir-Blodgett technique, microfluidic assembly, capillary assembly, blown-bubble technique and micro-contact printing. Although significant progress has been made to facilitate nano-scale building block of 1D nanowires, scalable, rapid and precise assembly technique is still a major challenge so as to fabricate large scale metallic NW based electronic devices.
Herein, we introduce rapid and large scale alignment technique of metallic NWs using commercially available bar coating, which can be compatible to roll-to-roll process. This technique provides highly aligned metallic NW array along the coating direction without any entangled NWs. Besides, it allows the fabrication of a rectangular array of metallic NWs though multi-step alignment process, which exhibits superior opto-electronic performance including low sheet resistance, high optical transmittance and large area uniformity for transparent conductor compared to that of random networks.
