Various magnetic assembly composed of magnetite nanoparticles were fabricated on the flexible plastic substrates using a magnetic mask in the external magnetic field. When a magnetic mask was located underneath a plastic substrate and the magnetic field was applied on the substrate, superparamagnetic nanoparticles were assembled in a pattern on the substrate. Magnetic nanoparticle patterns were generated between the two adjacent mask units along the direction of the external magnetic field. However, no magnetic nanoparticles were captured in adjacent areas between two mask units in the direction vertical to the magnetic field. |
