The microwave technology can offer many profitable benefits, such as low calcination temperature for a short time and the easy control of particle size, on the synthesis of metal oxides. In this study, BiVO4 particles were prepared using microwave-assisted process. The physical properties of prepared BiVO4 samples were investigated and we also examined the activity of them for the photocatalytic decomposition of Rhodamin B.Their XRD patterns revealed that the products can be indexed as zircon-tetragonal phase (z–t phase) of BiVO4 as a major product with a scheelite monoclinic phase (s–m phase) for all catalysts.Especially, this photocatalytic decomposition of Rhodamine B is carried out under visible light irradiation. Therefore, the amount of photo absorption in the visible region plays an important role on the photocatalytic activity. |
