In this study, EDLC electrode materials were prepared using pitch as a raw material, and the effect of pitch synthesis conditions on EDLC electrochemical performance was investigated. The pitch was manufactured by thermal treatment of PFO(Pyrolysis Fuel Oil), the soaking time was controlled to prepare of pitches, which have different mesophase contents. EA, TGA, and SP measurements were performed to evaluate the properties of the pitches, and the contents of mesophase were investigated using an optical microscope. The prepared pitch was activated using KOH, and pore characteristics were analyzed by BET-method. The prepared activated carbon was applied as EDLC electrode material, its electrochemical properties were evaluated by charging/discharging and CV analysis. |
