제목 Pretreatment of wasted corn stalk with micro-wave/ultrasonic-wave aided dilute acid for efficient sugar production
초록 Corn is one of the main agricultural products in Gangwon province. Since lots of corn stalk is wasted, it is used as a feedstock ofsugar for the production of bioethanol.The effect of acid concentration,temperature andtime on the pretreatment efficiency was statistically investigated.Temperaturewas found to be the most important factorfor both xylose and glucose yield efficiencies. In particular,when temperature was increased from 100 to 1200C, xylose yield was increasedthree times. When a sole microwave was applied to the corn stalk, the xylose yield was 53.5 % while ultrasonic wave resulted in almost 0 % xylose yield. The microwave or ultrasonication treatment prior to dilute acid treatment resulted in enhanced sugar yields but its effect was minor in the subsequent enzymatic hydrolysis.
