Solution to least square problems with stochastic uncertainties by polynomial chaos |

In this paper, the problem of minimizing the expected value with respect to uncertainty of the least square (LS) residual is considered. Since the polynomial chaos provides accuracy and computational efficiency method for estimation expected value of complex quantity, it is utilized in this paper for solving this optimization problem. Moreover,this solution reserves theLS structure of the problem whichgivesan exact minimizer. Several examples are considered to demonstrate the competitiveness with other recently approaches.This work was supported by the KOSEF grant 2009. |
