Growth and structuring of organic DAST crystals for integrated optics |
초록 |
Organic nonlinear optical crystals are attractive for VLSI photonic applications due to relatively high and fast nonlinearities compared to inorganic materials, and excellent long-term orientational stability together with high density of nonlinear optical components compared to poled polymers. We are growing high quality single crystals of 4-N,N-dimethylamino-4'-N'-methyl stilbazolium tosylate (DAST) by the solution growth method. The production of single crystals with minimal thickness of 10 µm is presented as well as the channel waveguide structuring of DAST surfaces by photostructuring techniques in the depth range up to 2.6 µm, and by femtosecond laser ablation. |
