Increasing Conductivity and Stability for High Temperature PEMFC Electrolyte Membranes by Titania-Zirconia Nanofibers |

It is of great benefit to operate Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell(PEMFC) at high temperatures. But there are some significant problems to extract their full potential. The problems are low thermal stability and decreased conductivity. These are originated from its polymeric nature and low humidity. To solve these problems, in this study, we produced a composite membrane filled with the ionomer after producing TiO2/ZrO2 nanofibers by electrospinning. TiO2/ZrO2 nanofiber’s role is to increase the conductivity of the protons at high temperature and act as a stable inorganic back bone to increase physical stability. After which the results were confirmed by various techniques. |
