Formation of Unimolecular Micelle of Multiblock/Graft Copolymers: Brownian Dynamics Simulation Approach |

Brownian dynamics simulation is conducted to investigate the effect of polymer architecture on the formation and structure of unimolecular micelle. Multiblock copolymer and graft copolymer are constructed using bead-spring model and Lennard-Jones interactions are employed to give amphiphilic nature for each block. Formation of flower-like and flower-connecting-type unimolecular micelle through intramolecular association is observed for multiblock and graft copolymers below critical aggregation temperature. It is also observed that the size of flower-like micelle is strongly affected by the number of repeating units. Various micellar properties such as critical aggregation temperature, average aggregation number, and the structure of flower-like micelle are obtained and compared with theoretical prediction.
