In this work, the magnesium oxide attached activated carbons (ACs) were studied in CO2 adsorption. The magnesium oxide introduced onto ACs by a postoxidation method including magnesium attachment in ethylene glycol. The structure of the magnesium oxide attached ACs was characterized by x-ray diffraction. CO2 adsorption behaviors of the magnesium oxide attached ACs was observed in the amounts of CO2 adsorptions at 298 K and 1.0 atm. From the results, it was found that the magnesium oxide on the ACs enhance to interaction between CO2 and magnesium oxide, on ACs surface. Consequently, it was found that the magnesium oxide led to an increase in the CO2 adsorption capacity. |
