For the fabrication of complex structured materials, template methods using self-assembled structures of the amphiphile molecules are widely studied. In this study, we present an application of a bionanotube as a tubular template to fabricate polymeric nanotube. An artificial peptide-associated bolaamphiphile molecule was synthesized and self-assembled to form tubular structure. Onto this template nanotube, a designer peptide with affinity to polypyrrole was immobilized. Due to the specific affinity of the peptide, polypyrrole clusters were selectively deposited the peptide-decorated bionano template. This approach can be applied to various engineering fields such as biomedical and electrical engineering where reliable bio-organic interfaces are required. |
