제목 Performance of Vanadium Redox Flow Battery Using poly(arylene ether ketone) based Anion Exchange Membrane
초록 To prepare membranes shows high performance and low permeability of vanadium ion for vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) application, poly (arylene ether ketone) anion exchange membranes with imidazolium group(PAEK-API). During the synthesis of membranes, content of imidazolium group is changed with various ratio. The chemical structure of PAEK-API is analyzed by NMR, and the characteristic of prepared membranes are compared with that of Nafion® 117. As a result, as the content of imidazolium group is increased, the efficiency is improved. All of PAEK-API membrane showed higher coulombic efficiency than Nafion® 117 membrane. Especially for PAEK-API 2.0, it showed higher coulombic, voltage, energy efficiency than Nafion® 117. Also, all of prepared membrane showed lower vanadium ion permeability than that of Nafion® 117 membranes. The result indicate PAEK-API can be alternative for Nafion® 117 in VRFB application.
