The effect of oxyfluorination on chromium ion adsorption properties of activated carbon fiber |
초록 |
This study was performed to investigate the possible uses of oxyfluorinated ACF for removal of Cr ions. The pitch-based activated carbons fibers (ACFs) are used as adsorbents for the removal chromium (Cr) ion from aqueous solution. The surface of ACF is oxyfluorinated at room temperature with F2 and O2 gas mixtures. The surface properties of oxyfluorinated ACFs are characterized by XPS, and their pore structure and specific surface area are assessed by N2 adsorption at 77K. As a result, the oxyfluorination treatment of ACF surface increase the fluorine functional groups. The moderate amount of fluorine functional groups on surface ACFs indicate an improvement in removal capability of Cr ions. |
