The Hierarchical Fe2O3/Carbon nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized using dual-nozzle electrospray, thermal stirring and carbonization process. The size of hierarchical NPs was controlled according to the polypyrrole NPs as starting materials. because of the additional pore in carbonization, the BET surface area was increased. These hierarchical nanoparticles were used to detect the toxic gas (NO2) at room temperature, due to the synergetic effect of organic/inorganic composite. The minimum detectable level (MDL) of hierarchical nanoparticles was as low as 1 ppm, which is higher than a chemical sensor based on the other composite materials. |
