Polyimide is one of the promising membrane materials for gas separation because of not only their high thermal and chemical stability but also superior mechanical and physical properties. However, their applications were limited in many fields because of their low solubility and processibility. In this study, we synthesized homo- and copolyimides using cardo-type diamine (BAPF) having an excellent solubility in organic solvents and high separation properties for several gases. The synthesized polyimides were characterized by FT-IR, XRD and TGA, and their gas permeations for CO2 and CH4 were evaluated by a time-lag apparatus. |
