Pyridine containing ligand was successfully synthesized and immobilized over mesoporous Silica SBA-15 by a step by step post synthesis modification method. The heterogenization of the ligand was achieved by the functionalization with chloropropyltriethoxysilane and further the synthesized ligand was immobilized over SBA-15 by chemical modification method. The synthesized and modified materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR), 29Si and 13C CP MAS NMR spectroscopic analyses, N2-sorption isotherms, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Further the characterized mesoporous silica SBA-15 materials were successfully applied for rare metal ion adsorption from aqueous solution. |
