A microbial fuel cell (MFC) and bioelectrochemical systems have been extensively applied to bioelectricity generation, biochemical production, biosensor and sustainable wastewater treatment. The MFC system implement electrogenic biofilm on the electrically conductive electrode which can interact with live cell bacteria through external electron transport pathways. It has been reported that maximum power point tracking (MPPT) method can automatically track the maximum power production point by interactive algorithm so that increase power density and columbic efficiency. In this study, we develop logic based control strategy for external load resistance by using LabViewTM which increase the power generation with using flat-plate MFCs and MPPT circuit board. The flat-plate MFCs inoculated with digester sludge was initially stabilized with fixed external resistance, then switched to MPPT algorithm. |
